Broken Pen is pretty much dead

I noticed people were still coming to this site, just wanted to let you know, I’m not posting here anymore as there didn’t seem to be much interest.  New sites that have my music that I’ve made are:

Snow - 3

First take with the whole song. I’m going to keep the old verse vocal in the next take, and then work on the chorus (which sounds really slow right now!). Hopefully this will improve soon. I’m a little saddened by the whole thing at the moment.

Worked on Elly’s voice, did my typical ping pong send (which goes to reverb) and also a reverb send. Pretty happy with the way the verses are going, but I’m pretty worried about how the chorus is going to work. In the original song, in typical Langsjoen fashion, there is a tempo change, which doesn’t work out too well when you have drums going.

First go around with Snow (written by Jens Langsjoen). The original is a nice acoustic song sung by a male so we thought we would mix it up a bit and do an electronic female vocal. This was pretty much thrown together and I’m not too sure what the plan is yet. Timing is a bit awkward and I’m not real crazy about the synth. This was Elly’s first stab at recording and I threw on an effect chain which needs some work as well… This could change significantly, but sometimes I’m surprised by how a finished song includes things that I didn’t work on for more than 3 minutes. Maybe that’s an issue with my laziness.

Static Progression - Final

Two versions up, first with a vocal and second without a vocal (if anyone has ideas on what vocal to actually use, please let me know; looking for something short and sexy). I’m feeling pretty good about this version, and have gotten some good feedback. Probably the best produced song I’ve made so far (given that production is relatively easy for this thing; composition, on the other hand, not so easy). Anyways, hopefully enjoy!

After hearing complaints about the old school somewhat annoying synth, I killed it and put in some reprisals in the song.  Tried to add a spoken word phrase (melodyne down a few steps, re eqed for radio announcer voice and messed with the audio some) - it’ll have to go for the real version though.  I need to figure out something good to say.

working on the vocal phrase, also will do some glitchy type editing (hopefully) for the various synths.

Final shape is taking place, did some work on all the sections really. Added some chaotic sounds to make build sections in the second and fourth sections, and tried to make the last section have some tie ins with the beginning as a reminder that it’s still the same song. All the sounds that I added are from HaliONE.
